Heimdal Dashboard now Smarter Controls, Stronger Visibility
Heimdal Security has just released the Release Candidate (RC) version 4.8.1 of its central dashboard — and it brings a wave of enhancements designed to give IT teams and MSPs more control, visibility, and flexibility. This new version will also be gradually deployed through our Heimdal self-update mechanism, over the course of the coming weeks.

Key Enhancements in v4.8.1 RC
Targeted Machine Type Filtering
A new “Targeted Machine Type” drop-down has been added to the Group Policy (Endpoint Settings), allowing admins to assign settings more precisely based on device types. Greater targeting = less policy bloat.
New Device Monitoring View & Alerts
The newly introduced “Monitored Devices” view under Device Info gives admins better visibility over endpoint inventory. Paired with “Device Status Change” alerts, you’ll now receive email and integration notifications when endpoints go offline or change status — no more surprises.
Threat-Hunting & Action Center – LAD Enhancements
The Threat-Hunting module now includes Live Actionable Data (LAD) improvements, boosting real-time insight and response capabilities across endpoints. Faster detection, faster action.
Windows OS Update Improvements
A new “Automatically install upgrades” checkbox simplifies OS upgrade automation for Windows endpoints — helping organisations stay up to date and compliant with minimal effort.
PEDM + Microsoft 2FA
In a major security upgrade, Privilege Elevation & Delegation Management (PEDM) now supports Microsoft 2FA for elevation request approvals. Add a second layer of validation and stop privilege abuse in its tracks.
